Relocating to Leeds Utah
Leeds Utah has a unique history combining its history with Harrisburg and Silver Reef. It's connected with these other two small towns, which are actually ghost towns today but Leeds persisted out of the three dating back to 1867.
Leeds Utah History
A little history on those other two towns we talked about; Harrisburg was the first settlement in the area founded in 1861. The sellers dug a 5-mile long irrigation canal along what is now known as Leeds Creek but growth was hampered by rocky soil and limited land availability and by 1876, Harrisburg was already losing its population. Very few pioneer homes and the remnants of the restored Adams House are all that remain of Harrisburg today. Around the same time that Leeds was settled, Silver Reef was discovered on the White Reef, and upturned sandstone ledge, which parallels Interstate 15 from Harrisburg to just north of Leeds. Minors and immigrants settled in the town hoping to make their fortune in the mining industry but by 1878, Leeds was considered the larger community helping not only minors but the farming community as well.
Leeds got its start originally called Bennington or Road Valley and was a more suitable location for diverting water and cultivating farmland. Many families moved to the area and the town was organized in 1867, originally named Bennington after one of the town's bishops. However, just two years later, Bennington was named Leeds, a request by the local bishop after Leeds England where the bishop originally had served as a Mormon missionary.

But what do the locals say about living here?
"Leeds is great for a tucked away small town. However, it is a commute to a city and there is limited activities to do outside of camping and hiking." - Niche.com
Even though Leeds is tucked away, it's within an hour of multiple outdoor recreational activities, national parks, fantastic shopping, dining, and just under four hours from Salt Lake City. Las Vegas is less than two hours away.
